About Us

Our Approach

Your best interests are our only interest.

When you become a client at Collier Law, you’re more than just another case number. We’re a small, specialty firm, so you immediately become an integral part of our business. That’s why we take the time to get to know you, the details of your case, and the obstacles you’re trying to overcome. We get to know your family, how you like your coffee, and what you’re looking forward to most when your case is resolved. We get to know you. How else can we deliver the personalized legal representation that suits you best? We’re not a big firm getting paid by the hour. We only get paid when you do, so we’ve got to earn it every time. The fact that we’re small is actually pretty huge because we’re able to serve you and your unique circumstances in a way that other firms can’t or won’t. When you’re a client at Collier Law, you win well before your case is resolved.

Our People

Personal. Professional. Proven.

Trey Collier in front of his office building

Trey Collier

Trey Collier actually began his legal career working for a large defense firm that represented employers and insurance companies in workers’ compensation cases. In other words, doing the opposite of what he does now. Even though Trey quickly discovered that he’d rather fight on the side of injured workers instead of defend big insurance carriers, his initial experience on the other side of the courtroom has given Trey a unique and invaluable perspective. He knows how both sides of a workers’ compensation case think. He knows the process. And he knows what employers and their insurance companies are ultimately trying to achieve. Trey approaches each one of his cases armed with this powerful insight. Whether sitting inside a courtroom or at a negotiating table, he uses it to fight for the financial compensation and emotional closure his clients deserve.

Trey has appeared before the deputy commissioners of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, the Full Commission, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and the North Carolina District and Superior Courts. He has also spoken on a wide array of topics relating to workers’ compensation law in North Carolina. A native of Salisbury, NC, Trey earned a double major in history and political science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before receiving his juris doctorate from Campbell University School of Law.

Shelby Duncan

One of the most important services that we provide for our clients is keeping them organized and informed throughout their legal process. After an accident, most clients are dealing with significant physical and financial issues so it’s important for them to know that their legal interests are being managed daily and diligently. That’s what makes Shelby Duncan so important. Shelby is responsible for handling the day-to-day case management for our injured workers. Her list of responsibilities is too long to list here, but it’s certainly safe to say that Collier Law clients are lucky to have her working on their side. With Shelby working so well behind the scenes, Trey Collier has the freedom to give Collier Law clients the personal, one-on-one time they need until their cases are resolved.
